The idea of making even better use of what’s already in place, of
overseeing and promoting the integration and co-ordination of local
services, is central to the CDB. Better integration of services, the
avoidance of duplication, and the identification of unmet need are the
most significant challenges that face us. The Board’s role is not to
dictate to others, nor to do their planning for them. It is instead about
creating a shared sense of purpose; about defining a vision for Wexford we
all want to see; and about all of us, individuals and organizations,
committing ourselves to making sure this vision is realized. Our
Strategy "Remodelling the Model County: A
Strategy for Economic, Social and Cultural
Development 2002-2012" brings together Local Government,
Local Development Agencies, State Agencies and social partners
- including the local community.
Our Strategy involved extensive consultation with the Local Community.
It also provided a formal mechanism whereby the community could become
involved in decisions affecting themselves and their local areas. For
details on how you could become involved please click on

All plans require constant monitoring and adaptations to ensure the
needs of those targeted are being continually met. The Strategy
"Remodelling the Model County"
was revised in 2004 to reflect these
changing needs.
