As a result of this process of cross-community consultation, the Board
will be in a
position to articulate a shared vision for the future of Wexford in terms of its economic,
social and
cultural development from now to the year 2010.

Specifically,
the board has a role in devising strategies and
recommendations designed to : - combat poverty
- ensure a more integrated delivery of services
- develop
partnerships between the community and public
agencies
- promote greater social inclusion
- ensure that all public services delivered locally meet the real
needs of all citizens
- monitor the quality of public services delivery systems
generally, and, in particular, devise ways to avoid overlaps in
the provision of existing services
- put systems in place for measuring the progress and results
of this strategic initiative
