The Wexford County Development Board (CDB) is a new body that was established in 2000 with the aim of co-ordinating and improving the delivery of all services to the citizens of Wexford. This is a government initiative which is being driven by the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government.

The term "services" covers industrial development, local development, physical planning, education, health, social services, agriculture, environment, tourism, fisheries and other sectors.

A key objective of the Wexford County Development Board is to oversee a move towards increased decision-making at local level.
