The County Development Board was set up by the Government in February 2000, to co-ordinate the services (services are things the government sets up for people, depending on what they need – like hospitals, schools, playgrounds and parks etc) of all public agencies working to fight poverty and promote social and economic development. The County Development Board will ensure that:
The services in County Wexford are what the people really need and they have a plan to integrate (integrate means all working together properly) all the services so that they will be more efficient. At present the County Development Board are meeting with all of the community groups around the county, gathering information which will help them to draw up their plan.

The County Development helps all of the people in the county like young people, the unemployed, the elderly, Travellers, people with disabilities, people from other countries who live in Ireland. Who are members of the County Development

Wexford Area Partnership, County Wexford Partnership, Wexford Organisation for Rural Development, the Trade Unions, representatives from the business community, the farming community, and the wider community are all members of the County Development Board.
