GOAL 1: DEVELOP A STRONG BUSINESS CULTURE

1. Develop a marketing plan and campaign promoting County Wexford
as a premier business location
2. Review the competitive position of County Wexford as a location to conduct business
3. Promote an enterprise culture in primary and second level schools
4. Improve the relative competitive position of the County, in the longer term.

GOAL 2: ATTRACT FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT

Strategic Objectives

5. Actively seek the locating of new industry/industries to Co.Wexford.
6. Construct Advance Factories in Enniscorthy and New Ross;
in the short term: and build a similar facility in Gorey, in the longer term.
7. Promote available industrial sites and buildings in Wexford, Enniscorthy, New Ross, and Gorey in a focused, continuous and intensified manner.
8. Integrate an office park within the IDA business park at Drinagh,Wexford to specifically cater for newly emerging and internationally traded sectors.
9. Increase the number of itineraries and company visits to Co.Wexford.
10. Encourage and support the expansion of existing overseas companies in the Co.Wexford to maximise further job opportunities in the County.
11. Provide full sanitary services to the main business parks in the County.

GOAL 3: PROMOTE THE DEVELOPMENT OF INDIGENOUS IRISH ENTERPRISE

Strategic Objectives

12. Support the expansion of existing Irish owned enterprise in Co.Wexford in order to maximise further job opportunities in the County.
13. Develop the existing manufacturing base in Co.Wexford to increase competitiveness of the industrial sector
14. Promote export driven growth in Co.Wexford based enterprise.
15. Initiate and sustain an on-going marketing campaign to encourage the expansion of corporate entities and internationally traded services to Co.Wexford.

GOAL 4: PROMOTE THE DEVELOPMENT OF MICRO-ENTERPRISE

Strategic Objectives

16. Source, facilitate and support the creation of new micro-enterprises in County Wexford.
17. Promote and support the expansion of existing small enterprises in Co.Wexford to maximise further job opportunities in the County.
18. Facilitate and provide enterprise centre industrial space for small business, with special regard to incubation units for start-up micro-enterprise.
19. Provide a range of training and development programmes targeted at the micro-enterprise sector.
20. Develop specific training and development programmes to promote the participation of women in
micro-enterprises.
21. Secure the effective integration of the delivery of services to the micro-enterprise sector.
22. Promote the delivery of micro-enterprise programmes to the rural/agri-tourism sector, community-owned enterprises, social economy enterprises, and non-profit sector enterprises.

23. Develop an integrated marketing strategy to attract Foreign Direct Investment
24. Develop a programme to attract start-up and expanding indigenous industry, particularly industries wishing to decentralise from Dublin.
25. Develop a website to promote Wexford.
26. Develop an information brochure to promote the county.

Strategic Objectives

27. Improve the technical and financial competitiveness of the sector as it adjusts to the pressures of changing EU and world markets
28. Enable producers to develop their business in line with EU and national environmental enhancement measures
29. Ensure output from the sector meets market demand in terms of quality and food safety
30. Continue to provide a full range of advisory and training services which will enable producers meet development challenges and draw down available funding
31. Encourage the development of value added agricultural products
