EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBERS                AREA COMMITTEE MEMBERS

There is an Area Forum for each area (Gorey, Enniscorthy, New Ross and Wexford), and a County Wexford Community Forum. The Area Fora will act as a sub-structure to the County Forum.

Representatives have been selected to sit on the County Development Board and the Strategic Policy Committees. Representatives to Area Committees will be selected at area level later this year.

There are membership criteria for groups that wish to engage in the Community Forum Consultation Process.

Groups must be active within the county

Groups active at parish or electoral area must affiliate to and nominate
representatives to their area fora

Groups must have a minimum membership of five and be open to new membership

Groups must have an adopted set of rules or constitution.

Groups must be in existence for a minimum of six months prior to affiliation.

Groups must complete an official Application Form.

Groups must hold regular meetings and
  AGM’s as appropriate.

State or semi-state bodies should not be
   members of the forum.

Local development agencies are eligible to
   affiliate.

Groups who have representational rights through national pillars or any other mechanism may affiliate to and participate in the Area Fora but should not participate in the election of> representatives to Strategic Policy Committees or the County Development Board.

Political parties will not be eligible to affiliate.

Single-issue groups with a short-term task oriented focus shall not be eligible to
affiliate, i.e. groups whose only objective is to promote or block a once-off project.

At present 268 community and voluntary organisations are members of the Community forum. These organisations represent a wide spectrum of the disparate social, cultural and community interests present in the county. It is expected that other community and voluntary groups will become involved as time passes. There is no cut-off date for the affiliation of community and voluntary groups to the community forum.
